The Artist's Statement
“The first rays of light silently and surely inch their way across the dark veil clinging to the crevassed face of a towering red cliff. An instant of time separates the darkness and light and reveals itself as a misty blue haze suspended in space. To witness this very brief and fleeting moment each morning at daybreak as I sit on my front porch, satisfies my soul and leaves me in awe of the beauty of creation and life itself. It inspires the artist within me and stimulates my desire to create.
My studio sits at the upper edges of a quiet little valley in the middle of Utah surrounded with contrasting views of high mountain ranges, desert cliffs and canyons. These varied vistas frame the little valley's checkerboard of pasture land and scattered homes. This is a place where life is a bit less hurried and seems to grasp onto that tranquil ambiance found in early dawn.
As an artist, I strive toward a high goal to attain skill and expertise in watercolor painting and sculpting . As an artist, my soul yearns to create and finds satisfaction and tranquility in moments spent in my studio fulfilling my life's passion and purpose. Hopefully my art in turn communicates and shares a portion of that tranquility with the viewer.”
